DIY or Master Craftsman? - Tract (Pack of 50)

Some of us are born to DIY. Some of us achieve DIY. And some of us have DIY thrust upon us.

It’s a fact that if you wander around any of our DIY superstores of a weekend, you’ll see some blokes in their element, and others in a state of depressed confusion.
Some of us love nothing more than a project that lets us break out the power tools, and spend a good few hours/days/months sawing, drilling, hammering and painting. Extension? Great. New kitchen? No problem. Build a house? Bring it on.
And the rest will find their hearts sink when confronted by a piece of flatpack furniture. There’s always a piece missing – and we end up with a screw loose.

But at the heart of it, many of us love putting things together and fixing things. Our creative juices start flowing, whether it’s carpentry, tinkering with an engine, sorting out a misbehaving computer or repairing a broken fence, we find it immensely
satisfying.
The fact is that as human beings, we all need fixing. Some of us are broken. Many of us have bits missing. And all of us have rough edges that need sanding down.

The Bible says we’re all made in the image of God – but we don’t live in the way the Creator intended.

We’re flawed. We say things we regret, do things that hurt others and ourselves, and give our time, money and love to created things instead of God. Jesus came to fix this. A trained carpenter, he spent years working with wood, making things, sanding off rough edges and producing items of value, purpose and quality.

He wants to do that with you – if you offer your life to him. You need God’s forgiveness for the wrong things you’ve done and said. And you need God the Creator’s help in living life as he intended.

You can’t do it yourself

Why not ask God to get to work on your life? He’s the master craftsman – and there’s no-one broken that he can’t fix.
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2: 10
