In 2016 London School of Theology and Preach Magazine launched a competition designed to put a spotlight on the art of preaching, to encourage young preachers to test their skills and seasoned preachers to hone theirs. Sermon of the Year 2016 invited submissions of written sermons on the subject, “Reason for Hope.” The response was extraordinary - preachers of all ages and from all corners of Great Britain took on the challenge with creativity, passion and faithfulness to their chosen biblical texts. The very best of the entries have been reproduced in book form - sermons that will edify you, surprise you, uplift you, and above all give you reason for hope.
“According to Eugene Peterson, "Exegesis is loving God enough to stop and listen carefully to what he says". Here a new generation demonstrate that Spirit inspired, biblical preaching is alive and well. Read this book and be encouraged!”
IAN COFFEY, author, preacher and Vice Principal of Moorlands College
“The finalists of Sermon of the Year are worthy contributors to this special book. Their dedication to the Word of God and presentation of their thoughts are an inspiration to read. I hope many others will be blessed by their words and challenged by each one of these sermons.”
