Inside this tract are the following words:
Imagine a blank canvas, ready to have the most wonderful artwork created on it. That's your life, that is – thanks to Easter.
You see, every one of us have done things, said things, thought things that we regret. And so often we end up in the same cycle, repeating them endlessly, and hurting others.
We try turning over a new leaf, reinventing ourselves. But it's hard, and we struggle to change who we are and how we behave.
We'd love to start afresh.
But we can't do it on our own.
The Bible says that God made men and women to live in friendship with Him. But in choosing to go our own way and sever that relationship, we have followed our own desires and reaped the consequences.
The world we live in shows the evidence of how wrong things have gone.
That's why God sent his son Jesus to earth: to show us how to live, but more than that, to take the consequences of our wrongdoing on himself on the Cross, and then to break the power of evil and death by rising to life, bringing hope of new life for all of us. A life with God that never ends.
Easter offers us that hope. The death of Jesus on a cross, and his glorious resurrection mean that we can begin again. We can know God's forgiveness and walk a different path.
This Easter could be the beginning of the rest of your life – to find out more, why not talk to the person who gave you this leaflet, or go along to your local church?
"For God so loved the world that he sent his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life"
(John 3: 16)
