Take a look around for a minute.
You don’t have to be a TV gardening expert to notice that winter has gone and spring is here at long last. The daffs have been out and, before you know it, the trees, bushes and garden borders will be bursting out all over.
Gardens which looked dead and buried in the heart of winter suddenly start to send up shoots as life and colour returns.
Easter, too, is overflowing with the promise of new life and the offer of a bright hope for the future.
The followers of Jesus thought everything was over as they witnessed the stark events of Good Friday – an innocent man tortured and killed in the most brutal way imaginable.
Yet the unthinkable happened: Jesus rose from the dead three days later, appearing to the disciples and many others, showing death had been defeated and life had triumphed.
The Bible tells us that those who choose to follow Jesus Christ have his light to steer them, even through the gloomiest of winter days.
There is hope for the future because a fresh start and forgiveness for the past are available to all who believe. Following Jesus offers all this and much more.
That’s the joyful message of Easter. Join us as we celebrate new life in all its fullness.
