A6 Paper (105mm × 148mm)
Inside this tract are the following words:
What does hope mean to you?
Light at the end of the tunnel? Relief from problems and trials? Maybe a new beginning:
- a lasting relationship, full of love
- a fulfilling job you enjoy
- a new skill learned that brings fresh opportunities to fulfil your dreams?
When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, on what we now celebrate as Palm Sunday, lots of people hailed him as King because they thought he would lead a revolt to overthrow their Roman oppressors.
As it turned out, he led a very different kind of revolution, based on sacrifice, mercy and values that turned the world on its head.
At Easter, Christians celebrate two contrasting historical events: the death of Jesus on a cross on Good Friday, and the Resurrection – Jesus’ return to life on Easter Sunday.
In the first, an innocent man takes the wrongdoing of the world upon his shoulders, and pays for it with his life. In the second, the grip of death and evil is defeated, and Jesus brings hope of a new kind of life for all those who follow him.
The life Jesus brings is one of peace, forgiveness, hope and joy – it wraps up all our human ideas of hope into one extravagant promise: knowing him and following him will transform us, and enable us to live the life we were made for.
