Inside this tract are the following words:
In the age of satellite navigation, getting lost has become a rare experience. But imagine for a moment you have left all electronic devices at home and after several hours of walking, you have no idea where you are. A stranger approaches from the opposite direction. He looks purposeful – a man who clearly knows the area. You ask him to direct you in the right way. ‘I am the way,’ he says. What a funny thing to say.
Jesus said he was ‘the way.’ Perhaps that sounds like a funny thing to say coming from him too. He often spoke in stories and imagery that caught the imagination and stirred the emotions, even if at first it didn’t make obvious sense. The lost need to know the way and Jesus had great compassion for the essential lost-ness of humanity trying to navigate through life without God.
If you are feeling lost, unsure of where you are heading or of how to make your life mean something, Jesus offers you a clear direction. He points to God the father and to eternal life in heaven and to follow him is to be found.
Lord, I have to admit I don’t know where I am going. I am sorry for going my own way and for how I have messed up, hurting myself and others. You say you are the way. I want to believe in you and follow you. Help me do that and thank you for your forgiveness and love. Amen.
This striking design will be eye catching both inside and outside your church. Remind those who see it that Christ is the way!
