What does Easter mean to you?
Two bank holidays? Spring flowers? A bit of
a chocolate binge?
For Christians, it’s actually the greatest
festival in the calendar – because it marks
the key central belief of the Christian
faith: that death has been
defeated and Jesus is alive!

that whoever you are,
whatever you’ve done and
however wretched life has
become, there is hope. The
Christian gospel explains that
God loves each one of us, but
because we have turned away from
him and gone our own way, the original
friendship between God and mankind has

is. Instead of peace we see conflict. Instead of generosity we see greed and malice. We
struggle to live up to our own standards, let
His answer was to send his son Jesus to
take the consequences of our wrongdoing
on his shoulders. His death on the
cross was the ultimate sacrifice,

later brings a fresh offer of life,
forgiveness and hope for the
future for all who follow him.
