Everybody loves a bargain – what’s the best you’ve ever had?
The designer outfit from a charity shop? The car boot painting worth £500?
With the internet giving us unlimited opportunities to browse, we literally know the price of everything.

But where does that get us?

For many, the answer to life’s troubles is to go shopping. Retail therapy.

Yet many of the things we long for still leave us unsatisfi ed and empty. That fulfi lment we long for remains just out of reach.
Maybe it’s because we’ve lost sight of the things that really matter.
God made us to have lives that are rich, exciting and fulfi lling. Lives that put him and friendship with him fi rst of all, and where everything else follows on from that.
1 God made us to be friends with him. But our sin – the wrong things we think, say and do – makes it impossible for us to know a holy God.
“…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” – Romans 3: 23
2 God sent Jesus to bridge the gap. Jesus took the punishment we deserve for the wrong things in our lives by dying on the cross, and his resurrection means we can know God’s forgiveness and new life that lasts forever.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3: 16.
3 Following Jesus means living differently. God’s salvation is a free gift that we can do nothing to earn. And once we have it, we have God’s Spirit living inside us – giving us the power to live in a way that pleases Him.
"…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5: 22
All this – for free!
It’s a bargain you simply can’t afford to miss.
